Tragedy and Comedy...
as i looked at what today's lesson would be, i just couldn't figure out why we were going to be discussing tragedy and comedy....and then i thought some more, which can hurt at times when you have soooo much on your mind...anyways, i realized that these two types can give an audience strong emotions regardless of them being more positive vs. more negative....in ch.7, they explain how for the genre tragedy, you usually have a hero(heroine) or like a situation where there is just no way to go back....while in comedy you are mainly focused on the more humerus aspects of what is going on....to me, when i see what is suppose to be a comedy, i set myself up to laugh....when i see what should be a tragedy, i tend to look at what the characters could have done instead and always question why they took the road they did to get there.....i think because i love to laugh more than cry, which i'm sure is the case for just about anyone, i enjoy more comedies...i love seeing different satire that get used....i like seeing new ideas and not the same ol' same ol', because its then no longer funny to me......
